Women Surgeons of Oman Club
The Women Surgeons of Oman Club, launched in November 2023 under the umbrella of the Oman Surgical Society, represents a historic milestone in advancing inclusivity and leadership in surgery. This initiative is dedicated to creating a platform that celebrates, supports, and empowers women surgeons across the Sultanate.
Since its establishment, the Club has brought together surgeons from diverse specialties, united by a shared vision of professional excellence and mentorship. In March 2024, we proudly held our first landmark gathering, where we honored Dr. Sadiya Al Riyami, the first Omani obstetrician and gynecologist, for her pioneering contributions. This moment symbolized the Club’s commitment to recognizing trailblazers while inspiring the next generation of women surgeons.
The Women Surgeons of Oman Club is not only about recognition, It is about building a sustainable culture of collaboration, mentorship, and opportunity, and that’s by fostering dialogue, training, and advocacy. We aim to strengthen the role of women in surgery, enrich the surgical profession, and contribute to the broader goals of Oman Vision 2040.
Together, we look forward to shaping a future where every woman surgeon in Oman is empowered to thrive, lead, and make an enduring impact on healthcare.
